Be Holy

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
1 Peter 1:13-21 (NIV)

He is the only hope we have. I am seeing that more and more each day. We lost one of the ladies that I work with today to death and it made me think even more about this today.

What a beautiful reminder. Perfect picture. The thought of the Living Water setting us apart from worldly ways. Like this image...How the water separated the land mass over the span of time...God bless.

Rita, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's always so difficult to lose someone we know.

Rcubes, The picture was taken near the 12 apostles on the southern coast of Victoria, Australia.

What a great word from the Word...

I love the phrase that says,

"set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed."

Thanks for sharing,
Melanie

Thank God we don't have to live the "empty way of life"!

Powerful writing!

Sometimes the Bible just says it all without any comentary needed. It is the Living Word and it speaks to all of us differently. But the truth remains: God is the Glory.

Thanks for your comments :)

These are beautiful verses - especially for women (or perhaps I am biased). There is so much pressure to conform to the ways of the world and the desires of the flesh...being washed by the Word of God is refreshing and invigorating!

Thank you for sharing these verses.
