Our Constant

Do you remember Bobby McFerrin’s song, “Don’t worry, be happy”? It was a catchy fun song of the 80’s that quickly turned into a real groaner. I think this happened because it lacked any real truth behind it. It rang of falseness because we all know that no one can be happy all of the time. We face inevitable failure if we try.

A very real part of life is the ups and downs of our emotions. We will feel agony, pain, devastation, misery. We will feel happiness, elation, delight.

But God is our constant.

He is our peace through the hardships, the mood swings and the challenges.

He is our joy through the chaos that life so often brings us.

My prayer to you today is from Romans 15:13 (NIV): May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Can you think of other verses that express God’s constancy in your life?

Psalm 89:2
Your unfailing love will last forever.
Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

Great insights! One of my favorite verses that expresses God's constancy is James 1:17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

Thank you for listening to our Father and posting it!
My fave verse in times of uncertainty is Psalm 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge."
I loved reading the other gals verses!
Hugs, Lynda!

Yes, that song really did turn into a groaner, but guess what?! It's now ringing through my head! Uh, oh! I need to go and find another song that can fill my mind before it sticks like superglue!lol

For me? It's the reminder that "His mercies are new EVERY morning."
