Do you ever hide things? Do you hide things from other people? Do you hide things from yourself? Do you try to hide things from God?
Some scientists are obsessed with hiding things. Those from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and the Imperial College in London claim to have made a small bump on a gold surface disappear using a sheet made of photonic crystal.
The “invisibility cloak” is only 100 microns by 30 microns. (One micron = one thousandth of a millimetre). And the bump they made vanish was 10x smaller again. So, we are talking miniscule. Smaller than a freckle. Smaller than a speck.
It might sound inconsequential, but it’s a big step in science.
Do you put this much effort into trying to hide things? Have you been carrying around secrets?
While I am impressed by the scientists’ efforts, I’m also reminded that we can’t hide anything from God. He sees all and knows all.
We can’t pretend with God that everything is superdooper when really it’s not. He knows the truth. He wants us to share with Him all these things we hold locked up inside. It’s not because He needs to know what’s going on inside us. He already knows. It’s because we need to tell Him. We need to be honest with Him – and honest with ourselves. We need to give Him our lives, not just a small portion of our lives. We need to give Him our everything.
And we need to be Real.
Pray to God and ask Him to show you what you’ve been hiding from yourself. Pray for the courage to hear the truth.

So SO true! Thank you! God has been working with me on this. Just being open. Not hiding anything! Awesome! Thanks so much!

Many blessings, Dorcas. God offers us a place in Him where it is safe to be our true selves in Christ.
That is a frightening prayer sometimes (to ask God to show what we've been hiding) because we know we have sins in our life we need to confront. I used to try to hide things from God all the time. I hope that I don't do that as often as I used to, but I know that He continues to reveal "hidden" sins to me. It stings a little, but I now it's necessary!
I have an award for you!

Great post Lyn. Hiding is what I have done all my life, and still do at times. Until I realized the road to freedom is to become real and deal with the pain of my past that I hid.
I don't know how to be anything less than honest and transparent. I guess I'm one of those that wear my emotions on my sleeve?? Anyway... Because I am so open, I tend to feel hurt when my friends choose to hide themselves or portions of their lives from me. And I have found it difficult to realize that others aren't as 'open' as I am.
If that makes sense???
this is a great message! but most of all today, i have to admit, i'm the most jazzed that you still use the word superdooper.
:) lol, love it!
Wow.
Yep. I do hide things.
And when I allow God to find those things, it is scary and painful.
But, he cleans out those dark little spaces and makes them sparkle and makes me whole again-- I pray that I can remember the glorious outcome rather than the painful process and allow Him to reveal all of me to Him.
And that I can trust him once again to make all things new.
Thank you for this post-- you made me cry--again.
:)
XOXOXO
Awesome post! I agree with JBR...there is freedom with truth and transparency....
The older I become, the more real I am becoming, yet when we have hidden most of our lives, it takes time and changing habits, relinquishing the old. I thank you for your post today. I certainly am reading the "right" ones today. God has truly appointed those to fall under my eyes and my heart today.
May your day be blessed as you are a blessing, ~ linda
Glowingirl - It can be scary, but God teaches us (many times over) that we CAN trust Him with even our ugliest bits. It's certainly something I need to often relearn. Oh, and thank you so much for the award! I feel very honoured.
JBR - I can so relate. Hugs.
Deb - You are so blessed to be able to say that with confidence. And yes what you said does make sense.
Rochelle - you made me chuckle. There are some words that should never disappear. Superdooper is one of them ;)
Leslie - That is so true. He makes us sparkle. It's important to sparkle. Hugs.
Karen - yes indeed and amen to that.
Linda - I am discovering that as well. God has a wonderful way of leading us to where we need to be :)
