Awesome

Do you ever get a word stuck in your head that you then use everywhere? Is it like one of those horrible tunes that won’t go away? Do you fight it or do you just go with it?

Well that’s happened to me. My word is “awesome”. You’ll probably pick it up in many of my comments and have a quiet chuckle to yourself.

It’s not like a word I could really use that often, but somehow I manage it. I recently read somewhere that overusing ‘awesome’ is outdated and indicates someone who wants to appear younger than they are. How awesome is that?

Well, despite that, I love awesome. Awesome is such an awesome word, so I decided to go with it.

God the Father is awesome.
I am filled with awe for His love and His patience and His power.

God the Son is awesome.
I am awestruck by what Jesus did for me.

God the Holy Ghost is awesome.
I am filled by the Spirit. I am guided by Him. I am over-awed by this.

Every one of the gifts God gives me is awesome.
I can’t fathom all that He does for me, or all that He gives me.

My God is awesome. There aren’t enough words to describe this awesomeness.

What else do you find awesome? Do you love the word as much as me? Is there a word that you get stuck on as well?

Awesome post Lynda! (hee hee)
I tend to get stuck on words too and even though I hear myself overusing the word, it still keeps going till it apparently runs its course.
We don't have human words (in any language) to describe our God. With you, to try to describe Him, all I can say is that GOD IS AWESOME!

JBR - When I try not to use awesome, I use wonderful. But awesome is so much more descriptive. :)

Deb - awesome doesn't appear to be running it's course. I've used it since my teen years :\

and yes, GOD IS AWESOME! Let's shout it from the roof-tops :)

This was an awesome post. I do think it's awesome you use awesome so often. I do on occasion use awesome, but not as much as I did in the awesome 80s.

This is a great post. Thanks for always leaving such nice comments on my blog.

The verse your blog is named after is one of my favorites verses.
I have a question? Do you live near Hillsong church. I am so jealous. They are one of my favorite worship bands. It is so far from me.
Just wondering if you have been there?
Blessings,
Tammy

Helen - aah, the 80's...they were awesome weren't they :)

Tammy - No, I don't live near Hillsong. I'm about a 2 hour drive from them. It's not that far when you think about it, but I've never made the trip. I would love to one day though.

Rebekah - thanks so very much. I do need prayer so I will send you an email. Thanks again...and again.

Alisa - There is no substitute for awesome :)

We do love an awesome God so that is a good word to fixate on. Hey, you commented on my blog post about strawberry flowers, and I encourage you to buy 6 strawberry plants and give them a try. Now that would be awesome! Sorry, I just had to use your favorite word :)

Terra - I looked up growing strawberries and it appears that winter is a great time to grow them. I'm heading towards winter, so I might just consider it.
