Lest We Forget
Tomorrow is
Anzac Day in Australia. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. It is a day of remembrance. Please spare a prayer for all those who fought to protect their country - not just in WW1, but in all the wars, in all the military actions. Please pray too for their families.

I wasn't aware of this military day of remembrance in your country. I will pray for the brave men and women that defend Australia.
We have what is known as Memorial Day in the USA. Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010). it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service.
This sounds similar to Memorial Day, in the United States... the biggest difference being that most people forget what it really is about. It seems to be only a holiday weekend, a day off work and school, for many.
It is good to remember those who have been and are still willing to risk their lives for what they believe in.
Ron, Anzac Day is also a public holiday and falls on 25th April every year so sometimes it's in the middle of the working week. When it falls on the weekend - like this year - aussies get Monday off as the public holiday.
Shen, it actually sounds somewhat similar. Many people forget here also. Many take for granted the safety of our country.
I just learned something new. Thanks for sharing. I will pray.
Thanks for the prayers, Kathy :)
