Writing for God

Yesterday God - yet again - demonstrated His power. He showed me again how much I need Him, how much I must rely on Him.

I realised that when I write for God I can’t allow myself to get caught up in any attempts of personal brilliance. I can’t allow the lure of pride to catch me off-guard. I am here to write for God, to share His word, to be His voice.

I can’t be His voice if I am busy saying my own thing my own way.

I can’t share His truths if I don’t stop to listen to them first.

When I write for God, work for God, do anything in this life, I must remember to hand myself over to Him so that He can use me. I can’t ever forget the importance of prayer. I must practice reliance. I must humbly kneel at His feet.

God is the one with the power.

God is the one with the words.

God is the one who should be glorified.

Amen. There are days I find myself asking the Lord, "what is it I should write about today?" And sometimes, He is quiet. So I am too. But it's so exciting to know that He even speaks to my heart and loves me the way He does.

Excellent post!

Well said and something to be mindful of.

Oh that we would all get out of God's way and let Him speak through us.
I am reminded of 1 Cor. 10:31 and Col. 3:17.

Amen! A pencil in the hand of God...indeed! Great post, Lynda.

I found you from Faded Laidies...joined you to day - I read several of your past posts - I like what I read. You also keep it to the point and short...I follow many blogs so that's a high point for me... (I'm a slow typist and a slow reader) thanks for sharing.

This is really true. I think it is a constant struggle for bloggers. In the world we try to speak His words and in our writing we should do the same, avoiding carelessness. The relationship comes first. This is such a great reminder.

Thanks, Lynda.

How true and how often we neglect to hand ourselves over to God and let Him work through us. Thanks for bringing this important topic to my attention. I needed to hear it. God bless.

Deb, great verse selection! I should have made one of those ones the verse of the day!

Welcome, Patrina. I feel your pain. I follow a lot of blogs as well and it's difficult to balance them all. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Often the shortest posts speak the loudest to me because they have to be so succinct in getting their point across.

Thanks "Inside the Shrink" for leaving a comment. My goodness you have a lot of blogs. I have enough trouble maintaining just one blog! ;)

Indeed. God cannot work through us when the path through us is blocked by us. Have a great weekend.

Dearest Lynda, What a good reminder for all of us who seek to point others to our Savior and let Him direct our lives. Thank you for this reminder.
